Certified Life Guard Training will be offered at a reduced rate to CUMCITO Recreation Staff. Training will be held all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon & evening for two consecutive weekends on May 17-18 & 24-25 at Heartland Presbyterian Center in Parkville. To qualify for this training, you must be able to swim 300 meters using the crawl and breaststroke and be able to retrieve a 10 lb brick 10 ft deep and swim 20 yds with it..
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
A nonviolent crisis intervention program offered by Crisis Prevention Insitute that will equip participants to anticipate and identify crisis, to prevent acting out behavior and provide for the care, welfare, safety and security of all those involved in a crisis situation.
A two-day workshop will be offered at our camp in Warsaw on May 29-30. Limited lodging will be available for CUMCITO camp staff. Cost will be $15 to cover the cost of the materials.
Specialized Recreation Staff Training
An all-day Specialized training in the fields of Trust/Challenge Course, Archery and Geo-Caching will be offered free of charge for all CUMCITO Recreation Staff members. This will be held on Saturday, June 14. This training will allow you to be CUMCITO qualified in any/off of these fields. You will then be able to lead these activities at camp.
Required training for all CUMCITO camp staff will be held two seperate times. Training includes the policies and procedures of Camp CUMCITO, training on discipline, evangelism, cultures, and job-specific instructions.
Session A will be held on:
- Tuesday evening, June 3rd at Grace Fellowship Church located at 7230 Quivira Rd, Shawnee, KS, 66216 beginning at 5:30pm.
- Saturday morning, June 21st at First Presbyterian Church of Olathe located at 621 S. Lee Ave, Olathe, KS 66061beginning at 9:30 am
Session B will be held on
- Thursday evening, June 5th at Grace Fellowship Church beginning at 5:30 pm
- Saturday afternoon, June 21st at First Presbyterian Church of Olathe beginning at 12:30 pm.
