Counselor Enjoys “Priceless” Week at Camp
“I’ve never gone to Camp CUMCITO and not seen God work in a major way to change my life and use my life to change other people,” says Jonathan Taussig, youth pastor for Westbrook Church, who has volunteered as a counselor at Camp CUMCITO. “Being at camp is priceless – it’s well worth any cost.”During the week, Jonathan developed close relationships with the boys in his cabin, several of whom gave their life to the Lord that week.
Jonathan vividly remembers one boy in his cabin. “He had scars all over his body,” Jonathan says. “He didn’t tell me a lot about what had happened to him, but he didn’t want to go home. When we were saying goodbye to the campers, he wouldn’t let go of me. It was really hard.”
