Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center
Our mission is to provide high quality, compassionate health care to the people of the greater Kansas City area and surrounding communities without regard to ability to pay.
In our 39 years of service to the community, the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center continues to embody the pioneering spirit of its founder. The Health Center has never strayed from its core belief that all people deserve high quality health care regardless of their ability to pay. Part of our uniqueness stems from the extraordinary diversity of both the patients and the staff. Unlike many health providers in Kansas City, our patient base is ethnically, racially, linguistically and religiously diverse. Members of many ethnic backgrounds are served, including Latinos, Ukrainians, Somalians, Vietnamese, Bosnians and African Americans. In 2006, 47 percent of our patients were part of the burgeoning population of immigrants who speak little or no English. Our patients and staff speak eleven languages including Spanish, Vietnamese, Bosnian, Albanian, German, Croatian, Kurdish, Arabic, Somali, Mai-Mai, and Dinka. In order to further meet the linguistic needs of patients, we have and continue to hire bilingual and bicultural staff.
