Over 200 Homeless Men Expected to Enjoy Football Game

City Union Mission will provide Kansas City's homeless men with a chance to watch the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles on television as they battle for NFL's top prize.

Why:
Dan Doty, executive director of City Union Mission said, “We want homeless men to be able to enjoy what so many of us take for granted. The Super Bowl gives us a unique opportunity to show them we care. That they do matter.”
How:
Men who are on City Union Mission’s long-term programs, which offer job training, case management, counseling, and Bible studies, will help with set up and serve food to other homeless guests. The feast will include pizza and chilidogs. Pepsi is providing 20 cases of pop, while volunteers will provide cookies and other snacks.
Special Halftime Show: During halftime, City Union Mission will show a video featuring an interview with New York Giants’ quarterback, Kurt Warner, who promotes Christian values. “They hear the testimony of an athlete who encourages them to have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ,” said Doty.

City Union Mission is an evangelical Christian ministry committed to sharing the gospel and meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of men, women and children who are poor or homeless. Last year, City Union Mission provided almost 292,000 meals for the hungry and over 127,000 beds for the weary.
