(Kansas City, MO) December 23, 2005. Homer’s Coffee House, located at 7126 W. 80th Street (80th and Metcalf) in Overland Park, KS, will host a benefit for City Union Mission this New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31, 2005 from 7pm-midnight.
Collections will be taken throughout the evening for the poor and homeless of City Union Mission. Larry Campbell & Friends, a Christian band, will offer live music.
Homer’s Coffee House was founded primarily as a music venue. It offers live music every Friday and Saturday night, featuring the finest in local and regional Christian performers in a variety of musical styles.
Its motto, “Saving the World…One Latte at a Time,” rings true this New Year’s Eve.
Owner Jim Mathis, said, "We have a heart for the homeless of Kansas City and we feel the best way to help is through City Union Mission."

City Union Mission’s CELEBRATE HOPE campaign is an effort to raise $2.9 million, nearly half of the Mission’s annual budget, by January 15, 2006. The Mission has currently received over $1.7 million towards this goal, with 23 days left. All financial donations (tax-deductible) are greatly needed and appreciated.
