City Union Mission Extends CELEBRATE HOPE Goal in Hopes of Reaching $2.7M

Who: City Union Mission’s CELEBRATE HOPE campaign goal is to raise $2.7 million, half of City Union Mission’s annual budget. The campaign was originally to end January 15, 2004, but now with only one day left and $413,000 to reach goal - City Union Mission has extended goal to January 31, 2004.
What: City Union Mission’s CELEBRATE HOPE - each Out to KC’s Poor and Homeless campaign is an effort to raise $2.7 million dollars, nearly half of the Mission’s annual budget, by January 15, 2004. At this time $2,286,750 has been donated towards the $2.7 million goal. All (tax-deductible) financial donations are greatly needed and appreciated.
When: City Union Mission extends CELEBRATE HOPE campaign 15 days. Campaign ends January 31, 2004.
Where: The CELEBRATE HOPE campaign will affect all areas of City Union Mission including their Men’s Center, Family Center, New Life Center and camp for low-income children located in the Ozarks.
Why: "We are so very grateful to our friends in the greater Kansas City area who have allowed God to use them to help us reach our goal.  We are so close and yet are not quite there.  Pray with us that the remaining funds will come in the next few days," said Dan Doty, executive director of the Mission.

The CELEBRATE HOPE financial giving campaign offers Kansas Citians the opportunity to reach out to those in need in their own community.  Funds received during CELEBRATE HOPE will assist City Union Mission to provide food, shelter, case management, counseling, education, training, and children’s ministries 365 days a year.

City Union Mission is an evangelical Christian ministry committed to sharing the gospel and meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of men, women and children who are poor or homeless. The Mission has been restoring hope to Kansas City's poor and homeless for over 82 years. Last year, City Union Mission provided almost 292,000 meals for the hungry and over 127,000 beds for the weary.
