April 06, 2004

(KANSAS CITY, MO) On Sunday, April 11, 2004, Homeless guests staying at City Union Mission will celebrate Easter with chapel service and special breakfast. At the service, the men will rejoice in Christ’s resurrection from the grave and the fact that He gave His life so we might have everlasting life. The Easter breakfast and service is a tradition at City Union Mission dating back to 1935.

Concord "Fortress of Hope" Baptist Church’s Rev. Kevin Conway will provide chapel service, Sheffield Family Life Center’s Reginald Lenz will perform miming and Keith Hinton (also from Sheffield) will lead praise and worship. Breakfast will include: Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, coffee and juice.

After the service and breakfast, men, women and families who are guests at City Union Mission Men’s Center and the Family Center will also be encouraged to participate in Easter celebrations at area churches.
