An Easter breakfast and chapel service for homeless guests; a tradition at City Union Mission since 1935. |
| When: |
Sunday, March 27, 2005 from 7-8 am |
| Where: |
City Union Mission’s Men’s Center at 1108 E 10th Street; KCMO |
| How: |
Concord “Fortress of Hope” Baptist Church’s Rev. Kevin Conway will provide the chapel service, while volunteers and staff serve food. |
| Why: |
It’s important to City Union Mission, as a Christian organization, to share the hopeful message of Christ’s resurrection with its guests. One such guest, Welton Knox, who is on one of City Union Mission’s long-term recovery programs, had this to say: “It’s an exciting time for me. I’m thrilled to be able to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s all about having an intimate relationship with Him. My hope is that people will consider pursuing a relationship with God.” |
After the breakfast, guests at City Union Mission Men’s Center and Family Center will be encouraged to participate in Easter celebrations at area churches. |
