It’s that time of year again when kids need to get all the right school supplies so they are equipped for success. That means involving many people. "It takes a lot of hands to make it all come together for the kids", says Becky Grant, Community Assistance Administrator. We have developed a pretty smooth process. We have lots of volunteers that help us sort out, and place all the right stuff in back packs so it’s ready for the kids when they come."
We are short on volunteers to share the Gospel, encourage believers, and pray with parents who come to us to be income qualified for School Supplies. This volunteer opportunity is available weekdays from now to September 1, 2006. For more information, please call (816) 329-1487 or E-mail volunteers@cumission.org.
"Our volunteers come back year after year. Some, like Dianna Rentie, have decided that it’s so important that they are even willing to take a day off work to help out."

Pictured below are four generations of volunteers: Great Grandma Susan Erickson, Grandma Janice Dudley, Mom Dianna Rentie, and Daughter Adriana.

Susan said, "Older people could be using their minds instead of sitting on the porch or watching TV. It’s a terrible thing to waste a mind when there’s so much you could be doing for somebody else."
Of course we couldn’t do it without the participation of the whole community. We want to thank all the teams from CommunityAmerica Credit Union that have been a moving force behind this effort to ensure that kids get the right tools in order to succeed in school.

Thanks again to CommunityAmerica Credit Union for your Partnership!
