| Why: |
“Our mission is two-fold,” said Teddy Bitner, Director of Biker’s with a Mission. “First, we want to raise money for the poor and homeless at City Union Mission. Second, we want to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. A number of organizations are involved to make this happen,” said Bitner. |
Cycle Disciples Ministries and Disciples of Jesus Ministry facilitate the event. Established by Guy Girratono in 1990, this event has raised over $425,000 since it began, last year raising $26,000. Funds raised provide Kansas City’s poor and homeless with things they might otherwise go without, such as baby formula, nursery equipment, eyeglasses, bus tokens for job interviews, and utility assistance. |
