On March 22, 2007, The Gideon’s International presented 500 hard-backed, New King James Version Bibles to City Union Mission.  The Bibles will be used in the recovery and reaching out programs available through our Men’s Center and our Family Center.

The two centers utilize 500 Bibles per year.  Upon contacting The Gideons International we had no idea they would be so generous.  Their intention is to provide what we need each year.  These Bibles are crucial for the men and women who come through our doors and go through our programs.  Now having our yearly need for bibles met by Gideon’s International is truly answered prayer.

 We want to thank The Gideons International for the wonderful contribution and support of City Union Mission.  They truly are one of the “pieces of the puzzle” that is working with us to help reach the poor and homeless in Kansas City.     

The Gideons International serves as an extended missionary arm of the church. Their sole purpose is to win men, women, boys and girls to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through association for service, personal testimony, and distributing the Bible in the human traffic lanes and streams of everyday life.  You can find out more about The Gideon’s International by clicking here.
