Dr. Davis, family dentist, and his wife Adriana, who is the business manager, learned about City Union Mission through their treatment manager, Anna Buskirk.  “My dad works at the mission.  We wanted to support the great work they do on behalf of the poor and homeless in Kansas City.  And this is one way we can do that.”

“Last September we donated cleanings for 15 children from City Union Mission’s Family Center.  Some of these kids had never been to a dentist before.  We wanted the kids to feel comfortable coming to see us, so we thought giving them each a hooded Chief’s sweatshirt would be a good idea.  They really liked getting them,” says Adriana. 

“We want to do this every 6 months.  It’s very important to me.  Serious health issues can result from poor dental care.  Eleven kids from City Union Mission’s Family Center came to our office the last Saturday in April.  This time we gave them brand new tennis shoes.  They were so excited.  Seeing these kids tugged on my heart.  I wanted to make their experience with us a positive one.  I think we did that,” said Dr. Davis.

Along with Dr. Davis, his wife, Adriana, and Anna, were dental assistants Lorena Perez, Claire Olden, and Kara Schnider.
