Hats Off To Swiss RE
May 30, 2007

Two of City Union Mission’s thrift stores have recently benefited from a corporation’s volunteer work day. On May 18th a large contingent from Swiss RE, formerly GE Electric, invested their day at the Wornall and 63rd Street stores. Among the many completed tasks were painting, construction of clothing racks, loading dock reinforcement, and fence construction. Amazingly they supplied all of the needed project materials.

Pat Brodnax, Informal Volunteer Administrator, reports, “I’ve only been here since 2004, but I’ve heard they have been doing this for years. They are a wonderful group of people who come in with all the energy and enthusiasm it takes to complete a job. We are most grateful to them!”
