Camp Staff Anxiously Waited for Junior Campers
July 09, 2007

Today began with a couple more hours of training for auxiliary staff and cabin preparation time for counselors. This was followed by a joyful time of praise and worship. All of the staff anxiously anticipated the arrival of the junior campers who had left the Kansas City a few minutes later than expected.

Staff tried to get in contact with some bus monitors riding down with the campers in order to figure out their exact arrival time. As the campers’ expected noontime arrival quickly approached, a rumor started that the bus had not even arrived in Clinton, MO. There was also still no word from the bus monitors as to where they were. Suddenly, one of the staff members yelled, “Bus, Bus ... the bus is here!” This sent a staff member running across the field toward the Craft Hall to welcome the bus with the traditional ringing of the bell.
