City Union Mission and it’s Christian Life Program Men to Help Clean Up Kemp Park with the Downtown Community Task Force

(KANSAS CITY, MO)  April 12, 2002. It’s time for clean-up! City Union Mission and it’s Christian Life Program Men will wear their volunteer hat for “The Great American Clean-Up Week,” sponsored by The Downtown Community Task Force, on Monday April 15th in Kemp Park at10th and Harrison Street.

As a member of The Downtown Community Task Force, City Union Mission and other community partners will provide maintenance and repair to Kemp Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The men on City Union Mission’s Christian Life Program will also participate, lending a helping hand to the community. This program gives opportunity to men who want to grow as responsible members of the community.

The Christian Life Program provides individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, job assignments, attendance at area churches and opportunities for further education, make up this comprehensive one-year program.

The Mission has been restoring hope to Kansas City's poor and homeless for over 82 years. Last year, City Union Mission provided almost 292,000 meals for the hungry and over 127,000 beds for the weary.
