6th CrossRoad 5K walk/run
March 14, 2008

Midland Adventist Academy will host its 6th CrossRoad 5K. This years walk/run will benefit the homeless and poor of Kansas City through City Union Mission on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 8 am in Corporate Woods (College/Antioch), near Building 40. On-site registration, from 6:45-7:30 am, is $25. The walk/run kicks off at 8 am; the kid’s fun run begins at 9 am.  Participants may also pre-register for $20 through March 24 at www.CrossRoad5k.com.

Karen Whitson, coordinator of the event, said, “We enjoy giving back to our city by supporting City Union Mission. When we have received so many blessings, it’s always a joy to share with others.  While City Union Mission benefits, we like to remind individuals and families that they are also the ones who benefit by walking or running and creating healthy habits together.”

Families who register together can take advantage of the reduced family preregistration rate of $60 or race-day registration rate of $75.

Participants may also collect pledges.  The person turning in the most cash generated by pledges will receive a $100 Dick's Sporting Goods gift certificate.  Pledge money is due by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the race.

Sponsors and contributors include Bukaty Companies, McCownGordon Construction, Midland Adventist Academy, 1030 The Light, Calvary 88.5, KCCV 92.3 FM & 760 AM, New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church, Rush Properties, Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Smoothie King, Great Harvest Bread Company, Dick's Sporting Goods, Gerald D. Whitson-CPA.
