Wednesday, July 23, was day two of school supply interviewing at the Family Center.  "More than 40 families came by for school supplies.  When all is said and done we interviewed 34 families...that is 34 families in 2-1/2 hours!," said Lydia Allen, Community Assistance Administrator.

Each year, City Union Mission offers school supplies to children who might otherwise go without!  You can participate in this drive to help children of all ages have the tools they need to succeed in school. Approximately 2,000 children this year will receive backpacks from City Union Mission, but not without you!

You can partner with us in this community outreach by gathering the needed items or donating $30 to fill a complete backpack for a child in need, please click here to donate now.

The supplies that are still needed to fill up all those backpacks are:

• 1500 Erasers
• 2636 Folder Pocket (6th-11th grades)
• 100 Pencil Boxes
• 450 1'' or 11/2'' Binders
• 765 Kleenex (2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th grades)
• 300 Report Covers (9th,10th,11th grades)

You can drop off donations at City Union Mission Family Shelter, 1310 Wabash, KCMO 64127 Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-4pm.

If you are unable to drop off the supplies at City Union Mission you may drop them off at the "Stuff the Bus" locations. Join us July 26 at Oak Park Mall at 95th and Quivira...Wizard soccer players will be signing autographs and meeting and greeting everyone bringing donations.

Join us July 27 at the 7pm Kansas City Wizards Game at Community America Ballpark. 94.9 staff and Wizards wives will be taking donations.

If you can’t make it out to any of the events be sure to drop off your donations ANYTIME at the Oak Park Mall Customer Service booth!
