Lydia Allen, Community Assistance Administrator, said, “We are so pleased to report that between July 21 and August 31 there were 70 people who accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Most of these occurred during the school supplies’ interview process. Please pray for these new believers that they find a bible believing church where they would be discipled so they can grow up to be mature in the faith.”

Children come into our shelter all year long in need of school supplies. Thankfully the school supply drive equips us so we can equip these kids whenever they come. In the 4 to 5 weeks of the drive 710 families were interviewed, with 1858 children served. Each one received a backpack full of all the tools they need to start school off on the right foot, essential for success.
“School Supply Distribution Day is always a joy. The kids are so excited, and the parents relieved,” said Lydia “There’s joy in looking back over the whole process, but the greatest joy is in knowing that we now have 70 new brothers and sisters in Christ!”
“Three years ago I interviewed some families for school supplies. We were given clear step by step instructions in what questions to ask and in how to present the gospel. It was surprisingly powerful. Besides getting to pray for each family, I even led a little girl to Christ! What an amazing blessing and one of my most memorable experiences,” says Karen Housholder, Media/Publicist Specialist.
