Faithful donor, Mr. Marion “Al” Boggs, Jr., recently celebrated his 83rd birthday by donating $830 to City Union Mission’s general fund. “It’s really neat that he gave this right as we were to start our Celebrate Hope Campaign, the effort to raise half of this year’s budget, $3.65 million, by the end of January. Our online web banquet, Celebrate Hope: Giving Hands Give Hope, kicks it off.” Please, click here to go to the banquet.
How do you celebrate your birthday!
"I really want our donors to know that we are deeply encouraged when they go the extra mile like this. Unfortunately more people are finding themselves in the position of having to turn to us for some of the basics. We’ve been experiencing, along with missions across the nation, a 20% increase in the demand for services,” said Dennis Chapman, Associate Executive Director of Development. “That’s pretty significant. We are trusting God will give us the supplies to provide for the poor or homeless through the thoughtfulness and generosity of donors, like Mr. Boggs."
Mr. Boggs has been a regular giver for about 20 years, including being a Bed & Bread club member. If you would like to join the club, please click here.
